Conficker Worm – How To Prevent And Remove
Posted in Internet on
If you haven’t heard already, according to security advisors, the Conficker worm is supposed to start receiving new instructions on by tomorrow.
Simply put, the Conficker Worm(also commonly referred to as Downadup and Kido) is highly advanced malware that can control your PC, letting the attacker do as they please making your computer part of a massive botnet.
Note: A botnet is a collection of software robots, or bots, that run autonomously and automatically.
Once infected, you will be unable to load web pages with terms such as conficker, Microsoft, anti-virus, etc. to keep from researching and removing this threat.
The easiest way to make sure you are safe from this threat is download and run this tool:
Then, run Microsoft Update to make sure that your computer is up to date with the latest security patches.
Note: If for some reason you can not access the link, try using an uninfected PC and download the above link to a USB stick. It is highly recommended that you do not just use a search engine to find a fix because numerous ones have been found to be fake.

Thanks for the tool, Was wondering why no-one has been talking about this
is it because they don’t know? Good luck with your equipment, Tim

Thanks Kris!! The conficker virus is truly one of a kind, and is set to morph today. Its being deployed on over 1000 computers and it will take over your computer as well as steal your personal information.
Well one thing i know is that the the creators of the virus will not be stupid enough to unleash it when everyone is watching out for it. GL you all!

I have Norton Anti virus on my computer so I would hope it would catch this. I’ve heard yeas and nays on this issue as to how good free is versus paid, and I do try to keep my computer up to date all the time, am constantly running scans and have my Microsoft updates automatically set to check every day for new fixes or updates that are considered critical, recommended, etc.; I have all of them installed even if they are optional just to be on the safe side. It just reaches a point that I don’t know how much I should spend to keep everything current as there are all sorts of software available that claim they can fix anything that comes along. $29.95 is a decent price to avert any kind of an attack, but how many applications should a person to feel safe.
Warmly,
Corinne
Angel Kris,
