VLC Review – Make Watching Videos on Your Computer Simple with VLC
Posted in PC on
So you have an .AVI or other video file and when you try loading it into Windows Media Player or most other video players it says that you need to install the proper “codec” and yet it can’t find it.
Are you tired of having to go through a mission every time you want to play a video? Wouldn’t you rather just load up a video and be able to play it? If you thought “yes I do” to any of these then VLC (short for VideoLan Client) just might be your answer. VLC is a “play anything” multimedia solution. Weighing in at a mere 16 meg download this client comes with everything you will ever need to play 99% of your multimedia.
It can handle MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, mp3, ogg, AVI, DVD, and just about everything imaginable that you can throw at it (Blu Ray and TrueHD is promised to come very soon), without ever seeing one of those “codec not found” errors. While not exactly the prettiest at first, it is completely skin-able and the sky is the limit with this player. You can even stream videos from your PC to a multitude of devices or the Internet. Trust me when I say that this is your one stop solution to all your multimedia woes. Don’t just take my word for it, try it yourself, and I’ll tell you some of the tricks that you can do with this great player after you have gotten your feet wet.
