    Hi Kris,
You are right great piece of software. Keep up the good work.

  2. Hey Kris,

Thanks for sharing the Jing application.

I’ve just downloaded it and created a quick video in less than 5 mins!

This software is perfect for newbies who want to get into videos without spending any money.

I’ll certainly be adding it to my resources section of my blog!

Keep up the good work my friend,

    ~ Peter Tremayne

    Yeah Kris:

I think Jing is cool too. I heard about it and tried it out almost a year ago. The only slight negative is that you don’t get much memory on the free account. After I did just 2 or 3 screen capture videos all my time was gone.

But I like the way it operates. I still don’t understand where it fits into the Techsmith lineup. Seems sorta competitive with Camtasia.

    Best regards,
    Art

p.s. I still with you’d do a video on managing the configuration of our browser title bars and other bars up on the top of the browser. Mine is still much bigger than it ought to be but I don’t know how to unify all the differnt gadgets I’ve got on it. Maybe I could send you a Jing?

    Hi Kris,
This “Jing” looks cool. My PC is running “windows xp” , about 3 – 4 years old. I’m a bit reluctant to run the exe. Is it safe?

  5. Great, it’s a cool piece of software. I guess many will be able to use it to create more stuff to share around.

Thanks for this information about the cool software – one thing you didn’t give anyone a link so we could go and get the actual software

  8. Bill says:

    G’day Kris,

I too have tried Jing some time back but now use CamStudioSuite for all my recordings as it too is easy to use and cost so little everyone can afford it.

    Cheers mate,

    Bill

  9. Ira Keiser says:

    Hi Kris,

I used Jing a while back and found the pop-out functions kind of aggravating. Every time my cursor passed over the “sun”, pop-outs were activated. But, I didn’t realize I could drag it to a different screen location. I’ll give it another try.

Danny Connolly — simple fix for “SAY HELLO AND MY NAME”
Use Windows Sound Recorder (Start, Programs, Accessories, Entertainment) and a microphone to record your message; save the file. (You can have fun with the ‘Effects’ too.)
Add a shortcut to c:\Document & Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup and the file will play your voice each time someone launches Windows.
Put another shortcut in c:\Document & Settings\All Users\Desktop and they can play it by clicking an icon on the Windows Desktop.
You can also modify current Windows sounds (beeps and bells and such) in Start, Control Panel, Sounds, Sounds tab to point to your new recording instead of the usual noises to surprise the kids.
