As an outcome of a broadband research which took place in UK has an unveiled result. The broadband experts revealed that the average uploading and downloading speed of a Mobile broadband is 1.46 Mbs. The same company gave a report earlier with respect to the services that are being offered to the home broadband services, it was a different one. There the average speed is 2.96 Mbs. These surveys were taken place between February and March 2008. The conditions were tested with 1,213 mobile broadband connections with high speed of uploading and downloading which ranges from 2.3 Mbs from Vodafone to 1.1 Mbs for T-Mobile and 1 Mbs for Three.

Among the service providers Vodafone achieves the fastest downloading speed and also considered as the best mobile broadband, as mentioned in an advertising promise. In the mean time the average upload speed for all providers were registered as 0.38 Mbs. Upload speed is nothing but the files or data that being sent from the computer to the internet, this upload is very important for VOIP connections and skype chat and calling. The downloading and  the uploading speed varies depending upon the mobile coverage, network speed, and mostly in the urban areas the network speed will be good because of having  more towers installed.

According to the Broadband Expert Technical Director “William Harvey” in mobile broadband deals should not be the necessary focus when choosing a product. He also says that the mobile broadband should be adequately used for email and web browsing, for which 1-2 Mbs speed is more than enough.

The important factor is that the network coverage that is linked should be of a reliable service provision. The ultimate output of the survey and the technology is that, the mobile broadband is an emerging technology which is always behind the fixed-line broadband. As a prospective basis mobile broadband should not be given assurance compare to the fixed-line as very high speeds are achievable etc. It is better to achieve the required data rate and to provide wide range.
