I got a Dell Studio Laptop about 6 months ago. Suddenly this week the sound volume failed to work when on the internet. (it works with a CD) When I have it to 100% you can barely hear it.

I called dell who said it was my software and had me call another department who said it was a registry problem but that my 3 year warrantee didn't cover it. They could fix it but it would cost $200 to do it. I told them they could take their computer and put it you know where.

Do you have any ideas of what I can do? I've had Dell before and the had great support service, now it has turned to a rip-off profit center.
